We all see growing social problems and human injustices worldwide. We know we must work together to ensure that the voice of the marginalized and poor is heard in this crisis.
HISTEAM will hold this First Malaysian Christian Holistic Care Conference in collaboration with Jubilee Initiative Malaysia, National Evangelical Christian Fellowship, Malaysian Care and World Vision Malaysia. It will be held on 13-16 September 2010 with theme “The Greatest Commandment” at KL Hokkien Methodist Church.
Our aim of this conference is to facilitate joint consultation process involving social workers, Christian lead charitable organizations, churches, and social development advocates at all levels and from all Christians denomination and organisations, to identify key issues for our cause, to develop our agenda, to find new ways to improve our services and ministry, and to foster strategic alliances among the charitable organizations and corporations who are interested in corporate social responsibilities.
Our programme includes theme talks, creative strategies, motivation for care-givers, workshop of various caring ministries and exhibition from various caring ministries. We are delighted to inform you that Dr Agnes Liu, Dr Johnny Wan and Rev James Shia have agreed to be the theme speakers for this conference. The programme of this conference is attached.
The entire conference would require approximately RM130,000 in funding. We estimate that there will be 300 participants for this conference, 50 social concern organizations to be the co-organizers and take part in the exhibition. However, after deducting registration fee from the participants and contribution of the associate organizers, we still need to raise about RM 65,000 for the expenses of the conference and another RM12,500 to sponsor 50 social ministers for full participation of this conference. We need your support to ensure that this conference is successfully held. We would appreciate if you could participate and support this great and exciting conference.
